REMEMBER: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS AT 1:00 AM ON NOVEMBER 1, so move your clocks back and get an extra hour of sleep!
Equipment Swap set up 8:00 AM – Ski Swap Guidelines
The equipment swap will go from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Guidelines for the Swap are attached to this email.
At 11:00 you need to gather up anything which is unsold, put it back into your vehicle, and get ready for the potluck.
REMEMBER that the equipment swap is also a fund-raiser for the teams. We expect you to donate 10% of your profit from your sales. Tiffany Burton will be collecting the donations.
Now, so we don’t end up with 65 plates of cookies, if your last name begins with the letters A through L, we ask that you bring an entree, and M through Z should bring a side dish. (At the end of the season in April or May, when we have the awards potluck, we’ll switch the order so everyone who gets to do entrees for the welcome back potluck will do side dishes for the awards program, and vice-versa.)
We ask that you label any serving dishes that you bring, so you can get them back. Bring enough of your dish to feed your family and 8 other people. That way we should have enough to satisfy everyone.
We also ask that you bring your own healthy drinks. Water is always a good choice.
We should be able to set up for lunch between 11:15 and 11:30, and we’ll eat and socialize between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
We will introduce the Board of Directors and the coaches in attendance. You’ll see former member families and meet new member families.
After lunch the athletes will participate in an obstacle race with Head Coach Kyle Wormsbecker.
While the athletes are racing, the parents who are doing race work will meet with Kim Williams and Lori Clays to get information on the races. This should take from about 1:00-1:30 PM. You’ll be asked to fill out some forms with information to help Kim and Lori when they are assigning jobs.
At about 1:30 until completed, Doug Kossak and a couple of helpers will be issuing team jackets. You and your athlete will be expected to sign rental agreements for the jackets, so please bring your own pen.
If you are not participating in fund-raising, you will be issued your “Think Snow” tickets so you can attend the dinner auction. If you are doing fund-raising, Tiffany and Stacie will be assigning your jobs for the auction.
When your family is ready to leave, please make sure that you clean up, get any serving dishes that you brought, make sure that you have your purchases and anything that did not sell, and that you have your athlete(s), and his/her team jacket.
All Mountain Team, Freeski Team, and Snowboard Team members will be learning about their uniform options. Doug won’t have them on Sunday.
NOTE: The times included are just a guideline. If an activity ends early, we’ll start the next activity early.
REMEMBER that these events are at BEAR MOUNTAIN. THEY ARE PLANNED TO TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE, SO BRING A HAT for sun-protection AND A JACKET in case it is chilly.
