2021 THINK SNOW Silent and Live Auction Guidelines

The BBSEF relies upon fundraising to bridge the gap between the equipment needs, travel fees and membership dues. The THINK SNOW! event is BBSEF’s major fundraiser of the year and therefore we request each member family from the Snow Summit Race Team donate one silent auction basket valued at $50 or more. We would like you to reach out to businesses in your community for these donated items. This year we are offering a personal shopper option for your silent auction basket. So if you do not have time or will be unable to get your silent auction basket to us before the deadline, you can opt for the personal shopper option! Please let the fundraising team know if you will be using this ‘personal shopper’ option before Oct 15th. The cost will be $65 (which will include items and wrapped basket) There are a limited number of personal shopper baskets we can do, so please notify us ASAP if you want this option.

If you have connections for larger donation items such as big value items, trips or experiences please consider reaching out to those organizations for a donation to our program. Please let the fundraising team know if you have something like this that you could arrange to be a part of this year’s LIVE auction!

In addition to the one mandatory donation basket from each family, those who wish to earn work or travel credit may provide up to 4 donations valued at least of $50 each, for which they will earn 4 hours of credit each. Another way to earn work or travel credit is to help out at the event with set up, event work or clean up. Up to 8 hours, valued at 1 hour of credit per hour worked, is available and the help is very much needed to make this event successful!

Please bring your donation to the Welcome Back BBQ or drop off your donation basket NO LATER than Sunday, October 31st at RE/MAX Big Bear office at 42153 Big Bear Blvd across from CVS. Simply drop off with front desk office staff and put “Attention Tyler Wood” on them! If you live out of the area and will not be coming up to Big Bear prior to the event then please try to make arrangements to have another ski team member bring the basket up for you before the deadline to make sure you receive credit. We cannot accept any silent auction basket after this deadline. If you drop off your silent auction basket after the deadline it will not be at the THINK SNOW event and will be used in our Memorial Race Fundraiser later in the season.

Below you will find the donation request letter on SSRT letterhead with 501c3 information that you can edit to suit your needs for your specific donation request. Also attached is the donation slip that we ask you to fill out when you drop off your basket to make sure your family receives the credit for each donation.
